Xfinity Mobile - Prepaid Cell Plans

Xfinity Mobile and its nationwide 5G network offer prepaid cell phone plans. Whether you purchase a phone from them or bring your own phone, there are several low-cost prepaid plans to choose from.

Caveat: You must subscribe to Xfinity's home internet plan first then add mobile to the internet plan. The plans and pricing as outlined below assume you have both the internet and mobile. Mobile plans without the internet are subject to a $25 per month per line fee.

Buying a Phone from Xfinity

Xfinity Mobile offers the full range of phones which they ship at no cost to you. You can choose from Apple, Google, Motorola, or Samsung. As you know, new phones are not cheap, so Xfinity has a 24-month payment option with 0% APR. Also, to defray the cost of a new phone you can trade in your old phone.

Or, if you don’t want to buy a new phone, you can use your existing phone. Currently, there’s a Bring Your Own Phone promotion. If you bring your own[hone you get a $100 prepaid card. This offer expires on 12/6/22, but something tells me there will be other promotions that are equally as attractive.

Xfinity Prepaid Mobile Plans

The more phone lines you add, the more economical. Their plans come with unlimited nationwide talk and text. Where the savings come in is on the data. For one line of unlimited data, the plan costs $45 per month. However, if you add a second, third, or fourth line, the plan costs $30 per month per line. By adding a 5th line, the cost drops to $28 per line per month.

If that pricing is a little too rich for your blood, instead of unlimited data you can opt for one of the following options:

1GB - $15 per month
3GB - $30 per month
10GB - $60 per month

The data is shared across all lines

After 20GB of monthly data use, speeds are reduced to a maximum of 1.5 Mbps download and 750 kbps upload, determined and applied on a per-line basis.

As mentioned earlier, the plans are subject to a $25 per line monthly fee if the account does not maintain one of the following:

Xfinity TV
Internet or
Voice service.

Mobile hotspot speeds will not exceed 600Kpbs.

International Calling

Xfinity offers a Mexico and Canada Call Pass for $10 per line. With this pass, you can make unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada.

If you travel abroad you have two payment options. There is the Pay as You Go options or the Global Travel Pass. The Pay as You Go option is the default data option. With it, you pay the current rate for the country/countries you’re communicating with.

The other option, the Global Travel Pass, has a flat rate of $10 per day for calls, texts, and data per line. It’s available in over 170 countries. If traveling in Mexico or Canada, the rate is $5 per day per line. If you’re traveling or calling a country not covered by the Global Travel Pass, the rate defaults to Pay as You Go.

You’ll need to take certain steps to prepare your phone for international travel, so it’s best to visit the Xfinity site to not only prepare your phone, but find out the international rates before traveling.
