Jitterbug Prepaid Cell Phone Plan For SeniorsAn alternative to TracFone's no longer available Senior Value Program Lively, the service provider behind Jitterbug phones, understands that senior citizens are fully capable of using regular prepaid smartphones. In many cases, a senior’s vision isn’t quite as sharp as it used to be. As a result, larger is better than smaller (contrary to the technological trend) and seniors would prefer special cell phones to make wireless conversations much easier. Jitterbug Cell Phones for Seniors to the RescueUnlike most cell phones, Lively’s Jitterbug phones have larger buttons and large display numbers, and an uncomplicated design. Yes, that means that if the phone rings while you’re in the grocery store and you don’t happen to have your reading glasses on, there’s a much better chance of being able to see who is calling because the number display is large. ![]() As the Boomers age, and the popularity of Jitterbug phones has increased, I’m happy to say Seniors now have more than one phone to choose from (about a decade or more ago, there was only one). Jitterbug Flip 2There’s the tried and true Jitterbug Flip2 (Cost: $99.99). The simplicity of use, bright screen, and backlit number pad with large buttons make dialing and reading easy. The big red Urgent Response button at the bottom of the keypad allows for easy access to help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.* And the speaker button ensures clear and loud audio. The updated Jitterbug Flip2 is Alexa enabled which enables you to make calls and send texts by using voice commands. And let’s not forget the front (5MP) and rear-facing (8MP) cameras. Jitterbug Smart 3If the flip phone is not your style, the Jitterbug Smart 3 (Cost: $149.99 plus $35 activation fee) might fit the bill. It’s a simple and easy-to-use smartphone. Unlike traditional smartphones with a host of complicated features, the Jitterbug Flip 3 has a simple user interface with basic, but necessary features. Features such as Phone, Text Messaging Camera, Internet, Email, and a few more. The big red Emergency Alert button is always visible and available when needed*. No scrolling through menu options and unrecognizable icons to find it. As with the Jitterbug Flip2, the screen is bright, speakers loud and clear. Both the Jitterbug 2 and Jitterbug 3 phones are hearing aid compatible (M4/T4).
