Cricket Wireless PrePaid Phone Plans

A long-time player in the wireless industry, Cricket offers a variety of cell phones and prepaid cellphone plans. One of the attractive features of Cricket besides the lack of an annual contract and no overages is that the monthly taxes are included. When they say the price is $50 a month, it is $50 a month. No additional charges for taxes, the state, and local taxes are included in the price. If you’re counting your pennies, having the fees included is a nice little perk.

Cricket Wireless Prepaid Plans

Cricket offers attractive plans. All of their voice and data plans include:

• Nationwide 5G (on 5G compatible devices)
• High-speed data
• Unlimited Talk
• Unlimited Text and Picture messages (US)

The cream of the crop is the Unlimited + 15GB Mobile Hotspot. The most comprehensive plan is $60 for a single line. The plan is discounted the more lines you add. I.e, $90 for two lines, $110 for 3, $130 for 4 and $160 for 5.

The next plan, in descending order, is the Unlimited plan for $55. Then the 10GB for $40, and finally the 4GB for $30. Prices quoted here are all for single lines

If you sign up for Auto Pay, you will receive a monthly $5 discount on single line accounts. The discount is not available on multi-line accounts. With Auto Pay, Cricket Wireless will notify you before your card is charged. They will charge your credit card one day before the due date.

• The website does say they may temporarily slow speeds if the network is busy.


• If communicating with Canada and Mexico is important to you, be advised that these countries are included with select plans, not all plans.

Cricket Wireless Phone Selection

You have the option of shopping for a new phone (new to you as some of the older phones are most likely refurbished) or bring your own phone. If you choose to buy a phone from Cricket you may be eligible for additional discounts and deals. Always check the Deals page before making your purchase.

Bring Your Own Phone

If you want to keep your current phone but switch to Cricket Wireless, first you must unlock your phone. Then check to see if the phone is compatible with Cricket’s service.

After steps one and two, next choose a plan, type of customer (New or Current), and type of account (Switching to cricket or Need a new number). The cost of the Sim card is $9.99. If you buy the SIM card online, there’s no activation fee.

Tracking Your Order

Cricket makes it easy to track your order. After you place your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email and another email when it ships. It’s shipped via free next-business-day shipping.

To find out the current status of your order, visit the Track Your Order page. You’ll need your Order number or Phone number.

Once you receive your device, make sure to activate your service online. Please insert your SIM card before activating the service.

Note: If you qualify for discounts under the Affordable Connectivity Program, you can receive as much as a $30 monthly discount ($70 if you live on Tribal lands) on your Cricket Wireless service.
