Verizon’s $50 Unlimited Prepaid Cell Phone Plan

This summary is probably the easiest prepaid phone plan summary that I’ve ever done. The information on the $50 plan is brief and to the point. For $50 a month, you get unlimited everything. That includes:

  • Mobile to mobile calling
  • Anytime minutes
  • Nights and weekends
  • Texting and
  • Mobile web. Although there is some fine print you should be aware of when it comes to the mobile web option. Mobile web only applies to Smartphones and BlackBerry phones. Feature phones do not have data package compatibility.

Phone Features

As with all of the Verizon prepaid services it comes with:

  • Voice mail
  • Call forwarding
  • Call waiting
  • Caller ID
  • 3 Way Calling

    Verizon's Pantech Caper

  • Domestic Long Distance
  • Domestic Roaming and
  • Call ID blocking

Unlimited Plan Phone Selection

According to the Verizon website, there are currently 5 phones that are compatible (somewhat) with the $50 monthly option. I say somewhat because 4 of the 5 phones are feature phones which do not offer mobile web. There is only one phone, the Pantech Caper, that is fully compatible with the $50 Unlimited monthly option.

You might want to visit a local Verizon retailer to see if there are additional phone options available. The ones currently available on the site are not too impressive.

For phones with more bells and whistles, it looks like you’ll have to opt for Verizon’s 3G Smartphone option.
