We talked about the several different plans offered at Boost Mobile, now let’s talk about funding the plans. Fortunately, there are several ways in which Boost Mobile users can fund their prepaid cell phone.
Hand Money to a Real Live Person
There’s always the option of going to one of the several thousand Boost Mobile retailers and hand your money over to a real live person. As you hand over your money the clerk will either add time to your phone right there, or you may have to buy a Re-Boost card. Follow the instructions on the back of the Re-Boost card to add airtime to your Boost Mobile phone.
Add Boost Mobile Airtime Online
Purchasing time online through Boost Mobile is an even more convenient way to add airtime to your account. You have the option of using a debit or credit card to add time whenever you want or need to. All you have to do is go to the Boost Mobile site and log into your account (you must register first). You can then add money or as they like to say “Re-Boost.”
Buy Airtime through the Boost Mobile Phone
If you prefer, you can conveniently add time by dialing #ADD from your Boost Mobile phone (which is #233). You’ll get step-by-step instructions on how to add the time.
Boost Mobile Auto Airtime
With the auto re-boost feature you can set it and forget it. Well, almost forget it. You must remember to have enough credit available on your credit card or cash available on your debit card if you go with this option.
The auto re-boost option gives Boost Mobile permission to automatically charge the monthly fee to the credit/debit card of choice. If you have the daily plan, your credit/debit card will be charged when your balance falls below $5. You get to choose the amount you want to be added to your Boost Mobile account.
How Boost Mobile Air Time Works
As long as you have time on your phone, you’re able to talk. If you are on a monthly plan and allow the airtime to dwindle without purchasing additional time, you have 60 before your account is canceled. This means that you’ll forfeit your Boost Mobile phone number if you don’t add additional airtime.
With the Pay as You Go plan you must add money to your account every 90 days for it to remain active. If you don’t add additional time within 90 days your service will be interrupted and you’ll lose any remaining balance you have. If you let your account airtime dwindle to 0, you have 60 days in which to add time. If you don’t, your account will be canceled and lose your Boost Mobile phone number.
Similarly, with the daily plan, if you fail to pay the daily amount, your service will be interrupted. And, if you allow the balance to dwindle to zero, you have 60 days to add time or your account will be canceled and you forfeit your Boost Mobile number.
